Ziba Gives Back
Ziba Girl Sarah Garcia (2005) presented a $5,000 check on behalf of Ziba Beauty to Tazeem Bhindi, an executive officer for the non profit SAHARA center, which provides assistance and shelter for abused women.

Ziba Hope Project

Ziba Beauty started “Project Hope” in the wake of the Tsunami that affected Southeast Asia. The goal is simple, to empower as many impoverished people as possible. The first year, Ziba Hope raised $50,000. This year, Ziba Beauty has agreed to affiliate itself with the American India Foundation.

"Project Hope” and the American India Foundation (AIF)

Ziba Beauty started Project Hope with the sole aim of giving back and helping people in a meaningful way. It is precisely those goals that lead to Ziba making the AIF the beneficiary of the funds raised by Project Hope.

The American India Foundation (AIF) is the largest India centric charity in the USA.  Its mission is to accelerate social and economic change in India. By mobilizing people and resources across the United States, AIF has raised over $32 million since its inception in 2001.

AIF awards grants to education, livelihood, and public health projects in India – with emphasis on elementary education, women’s empowerment, and HIV/AIDS, respectively.

AIF also administers four programs:

    (1) The Service Corps, which develops young American leaders by placing them with Indian non-profits based on skills and needs
    (2) The Digital Equalizer, which bridges the “digital divide” by providing computers, internet, and training to under-resourced schools
    (3) League of Artisans, which creates sustained livelihoods for underprivileged artisans – particularly tribal, rural, and women artisans – and thereby improve their economic and living conditions
    (4) Donor Education, which trains donors to become strategic philanthropists.

AIF works out of New York and Silicon Valley in the US, and New Delhi and Bangalore in India.

There are 30 trustees in the U.S. that contribute $100,000 per year.

Former President Bill Clinton serves as Honorary Chair.
AIF holds four fundraisers in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Chicago. The LA fundraiser this year will be held at the Anaheim Marriott on October 28th. Azim Premji the Chairman of Wipro will be the Chief Guest and the goal is to raise $750,000 for the LA Gala.

Ziba Beauty Center will be Co-Chairing this AIF gala on Oct 28th. Sumita Batra, the CEO of Ziba Beauty, is on the governing body of AIF Southern California.
