GARAGE
DOOR OPEN
Born into a very strong and successful business-centric
family, Mrs. Sabarwal grew up working in many international
business environments. From Iran, England to India,
Mrs. Sabarwal always had a dream to be a entreprenuer
In New Delhi, Mrs. Sabarwal—or Aunty Kelly as
she is affectionately called—worked her beauty
magic in the garage of the family home. Still a popular
tradition in India today, people “run their businesses”
out of their garages, offering a variety of services
to patrons of all kinds. |
Keeping long hours well into the night
so that she could service the nine-to-five workforce
and others keeping long hours, Mrs. Sabarwal began to
notice her two young daughters “hanging out”
in the garage a bit more than usual. In fact, Suman
and Sumita were taking it all in, and like the nearly
lost art of mentoring, Mrs. Sabarwal became their greatest
teacher. While each, along with their mother, has been
recognized by the state of California as the leading
experts in eyebrow threading for many years now, Suman
and Sumita have never forgotten their very personal
and familial entrée into the world of Eastern
beauty.
EAST MEETS
WEST
On moving to the West, the Sabarwal family opened the
doors of its first Ziba Beauty in Artesia, California
(also known as “Little India) soon thereafter. |
