In our last issue, we talked about finding that little bit of me time through a simple, daily meditation. The goal is to find a comfortable position such as sitting in a cross-legged position on the floor, in a chair with your legs parallel, or lying down with your legs and arms slightly spread apart, your palms facing up, and your thumbs touching index fingers. Next, look at the point between your eyebrows and visualize light. Inhale light and exhale the light. Continue to slowly inhale and exhale the beautiful light. And now the new part: Let’s add a mantra to your body position and breathe. What is a mantra? A mantra is a divine sound designed to focus and calm your mind.

It helps you tune in with the higher frequencies and to elevate the mind to a higher consciousness in order to achieve a state of bliss. While there are many mantras people call their own, Ziba Beauty would like to share with you one seemingly simple mantra that does not pertain to any particular religion or icon. It is considered an “abstract mantra” because it belongs to the sound of the world. It is “om,” the purest and deepest voice within. When all sounds mix together, it results in this powerful sound of “om.” When you meditate, you will want to say the sound in your head, or by vocalizing it a few times. Begin with inhaling “om” and exhaling “om” with each breath you take. When the mind wanders (which it will!), just go back to the point between your eyebrows, to your breath, and to the light and sound of “om.”
