Z: You never know,
does she look anything like you ... Yvonne, if you could transport
yourself to another place for say a week, where would you
want to go?
Y: Anywhere in Mexico where they have beaches.
Cancun or
Puerto Vallarta would be ideal!
Z: Sounds fantastic.

On a warm afternoon in Los Angeles, fresh
off of a photo shoot and between college classes, Ziba News
had a chance to chat with Yvonne Ramirez, our 2006 Ziba Girl.
ZIBA: Yvonne, what does it feel like to be on this wave called
Ziba Girl?
Yvonne: It’s the thrill of a lifetime!
Thank you so much. And truly amazing to meet so many people
from so many cultures, and to be exposed to so many artists
and styles.
Z: A little different from you daily life?
Y: Absolutely! I’m going to be graduating
with my bachelor’s in psychology soon. I also have a
stable job as a teacher, working in the local school district.
Z: Congratulations! Some people say, “the less
time you have, the more time you make.... “
|
Y: So
true. It sounds like something I would say to my sisters.
I’m the oldest of three sisters, and I feel it’s
my responsibility to be a role model and advise them on their
paths.
Z: Your two sisters must really look up to you?
Y: They’ve been so supportive. And
to be honest, I think one of them might participate in the
Ziba Girl search next year.
