If
you’re like most of us,
you probably find yourself wondering if you could just take
15 minutes a day for yourself. This new section of Ziba News
is dedicated to you, offering tips and suggestions for that
little bit of “me time.” Just as your heart beats,
so does your mind remain active —every second of the
day. And like the body needs a rest, so does the mind. One
of the gifts given to us thousands of years ago by the masters
of the East is meditation. From various religions and faiths,
they all came with the same truth: The need to focus and quiet
the mind in order to keep a positive outlook. How?
First: Choose a place, be
it nature, your bed or bath. Sit or lie down and close your
eyes. Look at the point between your eyebrows. (We have two
eyes that look out, and one unseen eye that has the ability
to look inside and into the vast treasures of the mind.) Visualize
light—a candle flame or the sun is ideal—while
inhaling and exhaling through your nose only. With each breath,
inhale. Relax your body, relax your breathe, and relax your
mind. Try to do this for 15 sacred minutes a day.
In the next issue, we will
learn how to add a simple mantra to your meditation. |
